Our busy service department is located behind our Matlock TV shop, sited in a purpose
built 800 sq/ft workshop. We undertake repairs on the premises to TV's, DVD
Players and Recorders, Audio
Equipment, Satellite Receivers, and Microwave Ovens. Service for most White Goods is carried out by the relevant
manufacturers service network.
I'm Nigel Goodwin, Chief Engineer at C.
Farmer Ltd, and I
have over 30 years experience in the TV service trade. I am twice winner of 'Sharp
Electronics
Engineer of the Year (TV & VCR section)', and once winner of 'Grundig
Satellite Engineer of the Year'. In order to keep up to date with modern
technology I regularly attend manufacturers training courses, both on
particular products and new technology.
Besides myself we have two outside
engineers to provide service calls in the customers homes, any repairs
which require workshop attention are delivered to our Matlock service
department.
We are also a Sony certified service agent for LCD and Plasma
TV's, both in and out of warranty, as well as most of the Sony product
range.
The Derbyshire Dales is generally a poor place for TV reception, it's mostly impossible
to receive either CH5 or Digital TV terrestrially - they are only available via satellite.
There are a fair number of transmitters which can be received at various places in our
service area, most of them are listed here: Local Transmitters and
Relays.
As
a major Sky ASA dealer, we deal with a lot of customer queries, in
particular asking how to set the Sky remote to work a particular TV, so
we've provided all the details here, another
common request is how to receive different ITV regions, again this is
covered here.
